Getting Ready for the Next Issue!

The Luther Scoop staff has been busy getting ready for the December issue of the newspaper.  The plan is to have the newspaper ready to sell the week of Monday, December 19th.

The Luther Scoop staff takes time to pose for a group picture.
Our reporters were very excited to receive a digital camera and accessories from many generous donors on our donorschoose.org webpage.  The students have been able to use the camera to take photos of different events and people at our school to include in the newspaper.

Jaqui and Stacy had fun taking pictures and reviewing them on the camera.

With Yusi's help, the girls were able to load the pictures onto the computer.

The Three Little Pigs Video

Here is the video of "The Three Little Pigs" thanks to Ms. Maniaci.  Enjoy!

The CLC Breakfast Club presents "The Three Little Pigs"

This morning the CLC Breakfast Club presented a program entitled "The Three Little Pigs".  The students in the breakfast club have worked hard designing a set, collecting props, making costumes, practicing their lines, and performing the play.  Each student had a special role.  We decided to do a play because the students in the club liked reading different classic tales and spent the last week reading different versions of "The Three Little Pigs".  Each student then wrote their own version of what he/she thought the true story was of the three little pigs.

We performed our play for a great audience of family and friends in the Luther IMC.    A special thanks to all of the guests in attendance:  Moises' and Jasmin's mom and dad, Hector's dad and sister, Mrs. Behselich, Mr. Athas, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Swetland, Ms. Maniaci, and Mr. Peterson.  The IMC was definitely packed and the students received lots of applause for their effort.

Coming soon:  a video of our live performance.  A special thanks to Ms. Maniaci for videotaping the show.

Moises and Jasmin with their mom and dad after the show.
Hector, his dad, and his sister Karina took a picture together after the play.

Goodnight Moon and Runaway Bunny!

This morning we went and saw the play "Goodnight Moon and Runaway Bunny" at UW-Whitewater's Irving Young Auditorium.  It was a magical morning.  Students loved exploring the theater.  Before going to Whitewater, we read the two books written by Margaret Wise Brown.  At the theater we watched really cool puppets move around the stage.  We also learned about black lights and saw how they could make Jasmin and Natanael glow in the dark.

We loved the happy face statue so stopped to take a picture showing off our own happy faces.
We were able to ride in the elevator up to the balcony.  Milo was the lucky student who got to find the correct number button to press.

We checked out the amazing view on the top level of the Young Auditorium.

Jasmin, Evelin, and Milo are excited for the play to begin.

Natanael and Hector were theater buddies.

After the play, the actors came and showed us how they were able to make the different puppets move.
