Tonight families of my students were invited to attend a special "Family Art Night" at school. Each month I have been hosting different outings for the Latino families in our school. Some reasons for having these monthly events are to get my families more comfortable with coming to school, to have the families get to know me better, to engage in fun activities as a family, and to make connections with other Latino families in our school. We had great attendance at this month's event, especially for a cold and snowy February evening.

Everyone had a chance to share their artistic abilities by painting, coloring, and drawing beautiful masterpieces. Families worked together to create whimsical Japanese fish windsocks, painted sun catchers, and carefully designed their own bracelets and necklaces. It was great to see how everyone worked together to create some amazing pieces of art.
